Elara wakes in the bunker, gasping for air. The screens are flashing red, then stabilizing to a calm blue.

GlobalScape Safeguards took a hit. 12% of the archived data was temporarily corrupted, but Elara’s manual intervention isolated it. The backup restoration begins. No identities were lost.

The story begins on a Tuesday, deep in the virtual bowels of the GlobalScape Nexus. Elara is running a routine integrity check on the "Geneva Block"—the financial heart of the old world.

Elara refuses. That isn't safeguarding; that's just survival.
