Vishal’s last major release was Rathnam (April 2024) directed by Hari. While Rathnam had a solid opening, it received mixed reviews for its outdated template. Vishal admitted in interviews that Rathnam was a “crowd-pleaser made for the B and C centers.” He promised that his new movie with Sundar C will have a “universal appeal and top-notch technical standards.”

The movie is being produced by , in association with Madhavan and Sudhanshu Vats . Principal photography began in October 2021 and was completed in June 2022. The movie is currently in the post-production phase, with the release date expected to be announced soon.
