The latter half of the series is a rollercoaster. The Super 17 arc is rushed and relies heavily on fan-servicey returns of previous villains, feeling like filler canonized. However, the Shadow Dragon Saga is arguably GT’s most brilliant conceptual contribution. It introduces the idea that overusing the Dragon Balls has consequences, birthing seven dragons of elemental destruction.
