Rahat's earliest memories were of sitting at his uncle's feet, listening in awe as Nusrat ji sang about love, spirituality, and the human condition. The young boy's eyes would widen as his uncle's voice soared, filling the room with an otherworldly energy. Rahat was enchanted, and his heart began to beat in rhythm with the Qawwali.
Long before the world’s biggest stadiums echoed with his voice, Rahat was a child carrying a heavy name. He was the nephew of the undisputed king of Qawwali, Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
