The codec is particularly beneficial for animated series like Rick and Morty for several technical reasons:
Most streaming services (Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max) deliver Rick and Morty in H.264 (AVC) at roughly 5–8 Mbps for 1080p. This is fine, but it suffers from in gradients (look at the sky in the crow dimension) and blocking around the thin lines of the character rigs.
Whether you are team "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub" or just here for the Die Hard references, the h265 encode is the best way to see the Smith family in action.
