Cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE) is an autoimmune condition where the immune system mistakenly attacks skin cells, leading to a variety of distinctive rashes and sores. While some people experience these skin symptoms as part of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), others have "skin-only" lupus.
