On paper, Laufey Lín Bing Jónsdóttir is Icelandic. She was born in Reykjavík in 1999 and represents Iceland in international contexts. She has even performed at the Iceland Airwaves music festival and cites the country’s dramatic, quiet nature as a major influence on her songwriting.

Today, she splits her time between Los Angeles (the heart of the music industry) and Reykjavík. LA is where she records with the Philharmonic and attends red-carpet events, but Iceland remains her home base for peace and quiet.
