The hill is situated approximately 85 kilometers southwest of Chennai, off the busy Chengalpattu–Vandavasi road. Unlike the rocky, barren hills typical of the Eastern Ghats, Mount Valluvan is a modest, verdant granite outcrop rising to about 60 feet (18 meters). Its gentle slopes are dotted with scrub vegetation, and the summit offers a panoramic view of the surrounding paddy fields and villages that characterize the Kanchipuram countryside.
