Sometimes "switching" means getting the current window out of the way to see the desktop behind it.

: Press Ctrl + Win + Left/Right Arrow to move between your active desktops. To see an overview of all desktops, use Win + Tab .
If you just want to toggle back and forth between the two most recent windows you used, simply press Alt + Tab and release immediately. It functions exactly like a TV remote "Last Channel" button.
