If you need to read/write Japanese or want full OS immersion, this pack is essential and free. Just be aware that Microsoft’s translation isn’t 100% complete in every nook of the system, and the IME can be finicky. For casual typing or occasional use, it’s more than enough. Power users might still prefer Google IME alongside the language pack.
