"I heard you have the best durian in the city. But I see you're eating a mango," Adrian noted, pointing at the golden fruit in her hand.
Miss Durian laughed—a sharp, barking sound. "You tourists. You chase the spikes but ignore the sweetness until it's gone." She tossed a slice of mango to him. "Taste that first. If you can handle the sweet, maybe I'll show you the bitter."
