This isolation enables multiple Office versions to coexist (e.g., Office 2016 and Office 2021 on the same Windows 10 machine).
Enterprises still on Office 2016 MSI must plan migration to either Microsoft 365 Apps (frequent updates) or Office LTSC 2024 (stable, C2R-based) before extended support ends in October 2025.
