Morven Christie (DS Lisa Armstrong) is excellent here. Her character is unlike many typical TV detectives—she is messy, compromised, and legally culpable for withholding evidence regarding her son. In this episode, the weight of her mistakes crashes down on her. The scene where she realizes her professional integrity is completely shattered is palpable.
