Roll a piece of glazing putty into a thin rope and press it into the gap between the glass and the wood frame. Smooth it out with a putty knife or glazing tool at a 45-degree angle. Remove excess putty from the glass and wood.
Extract the old metal glazing points (small triangles) using pliers. If the glass is still stuck in the frame, carefully chip it out from the edges.
Once the glass and old putty are removed, use the vacuum to clean the groove completely. The surface must be dry and free of debris to ensure a proper seal for the new pane.
A professional glass removal service was contracted to carefully remove the broken glass from the site. This was done while ensuring the safety of building occupants and minimizing damage to the window frame.
