The "Slump" in the title refers to Sheldon Cooper. For a character defined by his intellect, hitting a mental wall is a catastrophic event. Sheldon finds himself struggling with a scientific problem he cannot solve. This storyline does an excellent job of humanizing a character who often feels alien. We see Sheldon not as the infallible genius, but as a frustrated child terrified that his only worth—his mind—might be failing him.
