The phrase “Slava Doom Patrol” (Slava – Glory to) is an internet-born neologism that fuses Ukrainian/Russian patriotic slang with the absurdist superhero ethos of DC Comics’ Doom Patrol . This paper argues that the term functions as a multilayered meme, simultaneously honoring the real-world “Doom Patrol” nickname of Ukraine’s 47th Artillery Brigade and serving as a vehicle for transnational fandom irony. By examining linguistic roots, military appropriation, and meme ecology, we reveal how “Slava Doom Patrol” exemplifies contemporary digital folk culture at the intersection of war and pop art.
