The episode picks up where Season 1 left off, with Sheldon starting his second year at East Texas High School. He is excited to take advanced classes, including physics and calculus. However, his enthusiasm is short-lived, as he soon discovers that his new physics teacher, Mr. Garrison (guest star), is not as enthusiastic about teaching gifted students.
