During the early October season, hunters could use in-line, percussion, or flintlock muzzleloaders. However, the late season was strictly limited to traditional flintlock actions .
Long guns had to be .44 caliber or larger, while muzzleloading pistols required a .50 caliber minimum. Sabots and pelletized powders were legal during these periods.
