Touchpad Cursor Disappears Windows 11 Dell Laptop Jun 2026

If the function key does not restore the cursor, the problem likely lies within Windows 11’s touchpad settings or driver stack. Windows 11 introduced a refined “Touchpad” section in the Settings app (Bluetooth & devices > Touchpad). A common scenario is that the operating system has automatically disabled the touchpad because an external USB mouse is connected. Under the “Touchpad” settings, there is an option labeled “Leave touchpad on when a mouse is connected.” If this is turned off, the moment a user plugs in a wireless dongle or Bluetooth mouse, Windows 11 dutifully hides the cursor and deactivates the touchpad. Unplugging the external mouse or changing this setting immediately resolves the issue.

Excellent case. A few months before this was published, I met Lee Ranaldo at a film he was presenting and I brought this album for him to sign. Lee said it was his “favorite” Sonic Youth album, and (no surprise) it’s mine too, which is why I brought it.

For the record, I love and own nearly every studio album they released, so it’s not a mere preference for a particular stage of their career – it’s simply the one that came out on top.

Nice appreciative analysis of Sonic Youth’s strongest and most artistic ’90s album. I dug a little deeper in my analysis (‘Beyond SubUrbia: A View Through the Trees’), but I think my Gen-x perspective demanded that.
