Despite the entrenched issues, significant shifts are occurring:
The phenomenon of facial abuse fanatics has garnered increasing attention in recent years, with the rise of social media platforms and online forums facilitating the visibility and proliferation of this behavior. Facial abuse, also known as facial mutilation or self-mutilation, involves the intentional infliction of harm or disfigurement on one's own face or the face of another person. This practice has been documented across various cultural contexts, with some individuals and groups embracing it as a form of self-expression, rebellion, or spiritual exploration.
This paper argues that facial abuse fanatics occupy a liminal space, challenging traditional notions of beauty, identity, and bodily integrity. By examining the cultural significance of this phenomenon, we can gain insight into the complex power dynamics at play, including the intersections of psychology, culture, and social control.
