Recognizing this shift, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) developed , formally titled "Guidelines for information and communication technology readiness for business continuity." This standard serves as a critical bridge between general business continuity practices and the technical specificities of IT disaster recovery. This essay explores the scope, framework, and strategic importance of ISO 27031, illustrating how it enables organizations to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruptive incidents that threaten ICT infrastructure.
