This paper explores the application of the MALZ module within the CDEGS software suite for the design and analysis of power system grounding networks. As power system fault currents increase, ensuring safety via step and touch voltage control is paramount. MALZ offers a frequency-dependent approach to analyzing arbitrary grounding structures in horizontally layered soils. This document details the theoretical basis of the MALZ computation, the modeling process, and the interpretation of results for safety compliance.
