A Turnitin enrollment key is a given by an instructor for students to manually join a Turnitin class. It is not a universal code. Students need both the Class ID and the enrollment key to self-enroll. If lost, ask the instructor — they can reset it in class settings.
In an era where "contract cheating"—where students pay others to write essays for them—is a billion-dollar industry, the enrollment key plays a surprisingly pivotal role in security.
Turnitin itself does not generate enrollment keys for direct student use — instructors create them within their Turnitin class settings.
