Rick Moranis is the soul of this movie. He plays Danny not as a fool, but as a dad trying to prove that kindness isn’t weakness. Ed O’Neill, fresh off Married… with Children , is perfectly cast as the scowling, win-at-all-costs Kevin, but the script gives him a redemption arc that actually feels earned. Even small roles from John Madden (as himself) and a young Sam Horrigan as the bully Spike add flavor.
