This approach shifts the burden off the survivor. It is not the survivor's job to prevent future abuse by reliving their past on a public stage. It is society's job to create an environment where abuse cannot thrive. This means funding shelters, training law enforcement to handle trauma with nuance, teaching consent in schools, and creating workplaces that protect victims of domestic violence.
